THE PURPOSE OF LAHITZ@CANNES

LaHitz Media's philosophy is that every filmmaker, new or well established, deserves a place in the international film market. Since May 2000, Jacquie Taliaferro has helped new and up-and-coming filmmakers from the African Diaspora gain exposure @ the Cannes International Film Festival through unique and innovative film screenings that run concurrently during the Cannes International Film Festival.

This film series gives voice to the undiscovered talent as well as to mainstream filmmakers, allowing festival goers to discover new works that would otherwise go unnoticed and undiscovered.

LAHITZ MEDIA @ CANNES SOJOURNER TRUTH AWARD

LaHitz Media also honors actors, actresses and filmmakers from the African Diaspora with the LaHitz Media Sojourner Truth Award, which is awarded to artists whose work uplifts the community and portrays postive images in the media.

LaHitz Media hosts a benefit fashion show displaying cutting edge fashions from the African Diaspora. Designs are auctioned off to benefit charitable organizations.
